How To Ignite Your Energy Naturally

We have all been there—stressed, busy, running on empty and automatically reaching for that quick-fix of instant energy.  For me, I tend to reach for more caffeine.  Many of us reach for some false sense of masked energy that may work for a hot second, but just end up leaving us feeling more depleted and tired than where we started.  Being ambitious and living within a fast-paced world, it is essential to be the master of our own energy that is long-lasting as well as fulfilling.  We want to be able to stay ahead of the game and not self-destruct our hard work because of our habits.  So, how can you quickly and efficiently boost your energy naturally? Try these three things first before reaching for that quick fix.

Hydrate.

It seems almost too obvious, but hydration is more often than not the most neglected step to take in gaining more energy.  Water is a major attribute to the human body; in fact, it takes precedence over food when it comes to survival.  Everything from our brain stimulation, muscle functioning to our skin health and energy production, water is the key component in balancing our bodies.  Not to mention, water is a powerful energy source.  Next time you feel foggy, moody, or extremely tired, reach for a glass or two of water.  Always be sure to drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water each day.  Until this becomes a habit, set alarm reminders on your phone, put post-it notes around your work environments, and keep a reusable water bottle by your side at all times.  Eventually this will become a reflex!

Make a playlist.

Music can be a powerful art form that can get us motivated to keep going when we are not at our optimal level of productivity. Create a playlist that can be your go-to mood booster. Choose songs that are upbeat, energizing, and positive.  We all have those songs that will throw us right into that mode, so put them all into one place and have it ready at your fingertips when you need it most.  I suggest listening to this playlist on your way to work, this will set a habitual routine and get you mentally prepared for the day ahead.

Visualize.

When we are stressed, tired, or anxious it can be challenging to remember what we are hustling so hard for in the first place.  Taking a minute to breathe deeply and visualize your larger goal/vision will instantly shift your energy.  This will help to dissipate the minor, momentary stressors and guide you in responding more positively to them.  The mind is a powerful tool that is at our will whenever we choose to utilize it. Therefore, utilize it! The more you visualize what you want, the more subconscious energy you will put towards achieving it.
